About Us
Rose Meadow Farm began as Hiscox Greenhouses, a family-owned flower-growing operation established by the Hiscox family in the years following World War I. Situated along South Country Road in East Patchogue, the farm became part of Long Island's rich greenhouse and floriculture industry by the mid-twenthieth century.
The Hiscox Greenhouses grew into one of the largest rose-growing operations on Long Island. At their peak, the greenhouses produced thousands of roses and other flowers for markets throughout New York State, helping to establish Long Island as a major center of commercial flower production. Many of the original greenhouse structures remain standing on the property today, reflecting the farm's rich agricultural history.
In 2002, Michael Barry purchased the farm and has continued its long tradition of growing flowers. With a deep appreciation for the property's history, he is committed to preserving the character and legacy of Rose Meadow Farm while carrying on its tradition as a working flower farm. His passion for agriculture and local history has guided his stewardship of the farm, ensuring that its story continues to be shared with future generations.
